** What is your procedure for adoption?
Your first step to adopting with us is to complete the online adoption application here: ONLINE ADOPTION FORM
Once completed, one of our coordinators will call you to discuss adoption at our facility. We want to make sure that our birds go to GREAT homes and our application gives us an idea of your level of experience, life situation, and desires in regards to adoption. Once we've completed the telephone interview we will set up an appointment to meet our birds. After that it is time for the home visit. We will come to your home to continue to discuss adoption, see where our birds will be living, talk more about toxins and dangers in the home, meet the family members who will also be a part of your birds life, and any other concerns or questions you might have will be addressed. After that is completed you will be free to come into the rescue to work with and bond with the bird you are interested in. We recommend at least 3-4 visits and sometimes more for certain birds. Again, this would depend on your level of experience. This whole process and our criteria are set in place to ensure the safety and happiness of our parrots.
**I can't keep my parrot, what do I do?
If for some reason you find you are unable to fulfill your commitment to your bird, it MUST come back to Lazicki's. Under no circumstances can be bird be given away, sold, or traded. Failure to contact us will be considered a breach of your adoption agreement and you will be fined, per our adoption contract. Contact any of the staff listed on our home page for assistance.
